1:1 Mindfulness Coaching

A Grounded, Human Approach to Practice

1:1 mindfulness coaching for people who want steady support meeting their lives as they are right now.

People come to mindfulness from all walks of life and all kinds of circumstances.

My approach blends mindfulness, somatic awareness, and relational presence in a way people describe as supportive, non-performative, and safe. No spiritual beliefs required, no ideal conditions assumed, just practice that fits your actual, messy, right-now life.

The Primary Way To Begin:

A 3 Month Coaching Container

I recommend beginning with a three month supported container. Forming any new habit takes time and work, and a mindfulness practice is no different, particularly if you are new to practice, or perhaps it's been a while.

This kind of work is cumulative, so spending twelve weeks together creates space for you to begin to build a habit that may, if you want it to, last a lifetime.

This three month mindfulness coaching container is a personalized journey tailored to you.

You'll receive practical tools to support nervous system regulation, self discovery, and the cultivation of a sense of steadiness that will infuse your everyday life.

3 month container: details

    • Develop or re-establish a meditation practice

    • Work skillfully with anxiety, addiction, depression, or nervous system stress

    • Navigate major life transitions

    • Integrate mindfulness into daily life, not just in sessions

    • Build a healthier relationship to your emotional world

    • 12 Weeks (3 Months)

    • Weekly 1:1 sessions (60 minutes each)

  • In addition to our weekly time together, additional support is available to you:

    • Ongoing text/email support + curated mindfulness resources

    • Personalized meditation and somatic practice guidance

    • Individualized take-home reflections and practices after each session

    • Curated resources drawn directly from our work together, including guided meditations, talks, and readings

    • Ongoing continuity and relational support throughout the container

    • After each session, you receive practices and reflections shaped directly from our conversation. This supports integration between sessions so the work continues beyond the hour we share.

  • $1500

This is $300 off the cost of booking individual sessions.

Payment plans are available - three monthly payments of $500.

“The program has enough structure to give you a sense of direction, but it’s never rigid. Joe moves with you, taking things as they come and following the thread wherever it leads.

The results have been profound. It’s changed the way I communicate and connect. It’s changed the way I see myself, my reactions, my patterns, and the way I see other people. For anyone who feels stuck in the 'intellectual' phase of their journey knowing the theory but not feeling the change, Joe is the bridge.

I couldn't recommend him more!”

Single 1:1 Sessions (60 Minutes)

For those who have completed a 3-month container or have an established practice, individual sessions are available for continued support. Sessions are available either in person in Santa Cruz or via Zoom.

    • Practice refinement

    • Check-ins during life transitions

    • Ongoing accountability

    • Reconnecting when needed

    • 60-minute private session

    • Practice guidance tailored to the moment

    • Space for reflection and integration

  • $150 per session

“I found his comedic somewhat dark explanations of the meditation experience to be refreshing and authentic and honestly just fun. He brings a well informed improvisational energy that is uniquely him. There’s an ease with Joe that’s hard to manufacture, a genuine go-with-the-flow quality that makes you feel held even when you’re sitting with uncomfortable things.”

This is mindfulness-based coaching. It can complement therapy or recovery work, but it does not replace medical or mental health care.

What this is:

  • A structured container for building real practice

  • Trauma-aware and nervous system informed

  • Rooted in contemplative tradition without religious pressure

  • Relational, steady, and grounded

What this is not:

  • Therapy or psychiatric treatment

  • Crisis support

  • A quick fix

  • A rigid belief system

  • Guru-based or hierarchical

Not sure where to start?

If you don’t know if the 3 month container is the right fit, you’re welcome to reach out with questions before applying.

Hi, I’m Joe.

I come to this work honestly.

My early years were spent chasing dreams and chaos as a touring musician in the 1990s punk scene. Along the way, I found meditation, and, eventually, myself. After navigating the ups and downs of addiction, relapse, and recovery, mindfulness became not just a practice but a life raft.

Over the past 15 years, I've dedicated myself to making mindfulness approachable for real people with real lives, especially those who don't see themselves reflected in traditional wellness spaces.

I teach in group settings, recovery environments, workplaces, and 1:1, offering support to people who want someone in their corner as they do the sometimes challenging work of meeting their own present moment experience with curiosity and steadiness.

I integrate trauma-informed mindfulness, harm reduction principles, relapse resiliency, and emotional intelligence tools into everything I teach. I have seen (in myself and in my clients) how  presence, emotional awareness, and compassionate action can radically change how we move through the world. I believe in sobriety and self-discovery, but more importantly, I believe in learning to trust our own innate wisdom.

Mindfulness makes space for us to hear that wisdom, and builds the self-trust needed to follow it.

Sit. Feel. Heal.

The Sit. Feel. Heal. Program offers a guided journey through mindfulness practices and emotional awareness, providing practical tools for nervous system regulation, self-discovery, and long-term integration into daily life.

  • Duration: 12 Weeks (3 Months)

Format: Weekly 1:1 sessions (60 minutes each)

Support: Ongoing text/email support + curated mindfulness resources

  • Focus: Cultivating stillness and building foundational tools to regulate your nervous system.

Learn to pause, step out of reactive cycles, and integrate simple, trauma-informed mindfulness practices that foster a sense of ease and curiosity.

These practices create space for self-awareness and trust, helping you navigate life with greater clarity and presence.

  • Focus: Developing a healthier relationship with your emotions and inner landscape.

Discover how to respond rather than react, building emotional resilience and cultivating compassion and understanding for yourself.

This phase invites exploration of emotional patterns, helping to release what no longer serves and create space for curiosity and healing.

  • Focus: Bridging insights from our sessions into sustainable, actionable habits.

Learn to integrate mindfulness tools into daily routines, fostering clarity, balance, and deeper connections in your personal and professional life. By creating sustainable practices and habits, you’ll leave with a sense of alignment and ease that supports long-term transformation.
