1:1 Mindfulness Coaching

Steady support to meet your life as it is this moment, with a grounded, human approach to mindfulness practice.

We begin with a 30 minute, free, no pressure conversation to connect and make sure this feels right for you right now.

People come to mindfulness from all walks of life and all kinds of circumstances.

Some are dealing with anxiety, depression, addiction - either struggling with substances or newly in recovery, grief, or overwhelm.

Others come because they want a way to help them deal with intense emotions, or they're burned out, feeling stuck, or something just feels off that's kind of hard to name.

All of them want steadier ground beneath them as they navigate their lives.

People like the way I guide meditation. I get told it feels supportive, non-performative, and that when working with me, people feel that we're not here to fix them and there is no way to do it wrong. They feel safe, supported, relaxed and seen.

I offer a blend of mindfulness practice, somatic awareness, and relational presence to support you in building a practice that fits your actual life - your probably messy, sometimes challenging 'right here, right now' life, not the idealized version of it where you have all the time in the world, sitting always feels peaceful, children don't interrupt, relationships don't end, people don't die, and life never throws you a curveball.

You also don't have to be spiritual or believe in anything particular to benefit.

The Primary Way To Begin:

A 3 Month Coaching Container

Consistency can be hard.

Forming any new habit takes time and work, and a mindfulness practice is no different, particularly if you are new to practice, or perhaps it's been a while.

That's why I recommend a three month supported container as a way to begin.

It's a kind way to create a steady rhythm in your practice. Showing up in this way is how trust is built - you learn to trust your practice will be there for you. Your nervous system learns to trust in your presence. Your practice deepens, and insight builds.

This kind of work is cumulative, so spending twelve weeks together creates space for you to begin to build a habit that may, if you want it to, last a lifetime.

This three month mindfulness coaching container is a personalized journey tailored to you.

You'll receive practical tools to support nervous system regulation, self discovery, and the cultivation of a sense of steadiness that will infuse your everyday life.

We follow my Sit. Feel. Heal. approach:

Sit: find stability and presence.

Learn to pause, ground, and step out of reactive cycles in your professional and personal life.

Explore simple, trauma-informed mindfulness practices that spark curiosity and nurture a deeper connection with self-awareness, free from rigid expectations.

Learn to Be With experience as it arises in each moment with spaciousness and curiosity.

Cultivating this kind of (internal) stillness builds trust with yourself, and gives you tools to regulate your nervous system.

Feel: develop a healthier relationship with your emotions and inner landscape.

Learn to respond rather than react, building resilience and emotional understanding, cultivating wisdom and compassion towards yourself and the way you feel.

Gently explore emotional narratives and patterns that may have kept you stuck, creating space for curiosity and healing.

Heal: create an authentic spiritual practice that feels fluid, intuitive, and aligned with your values.

Integrate what you learn from our sessions into sustainable, actionable habits.

Bring your mindfulness practices into your workplace, home and daily life, fostering clarity,  balance and a kinder relationship to yourself and others, taking your practice from the Seat to the Street.

You might notice some themes running through each element of Sit. Feel. Heal: curiosity, clarity, kindness, steadiness. No fixing or pushing or efforting required, though if these things arise, they are welcome too.

Ongoing support

In addition to our weekly time together, additional support is available to you:

This supports integration between sessions so the work continues beyond the hour we share.

“The program has enough structure to give you a sense of direction, but it’s never rigid. Joe moves with you, taking things as they come and following the thread wherever it leads.

The results have been profound. It’s changed the way I communicate and connect. It’s changed the way I see myself, my reactions, my patterns, and the way I see other people. For anyone who feels stuck in the 'intellectual' phase of their journey knowing the theory but not feeling the change, Joe is the bridge.

I couldn't recommend him more!”

  • Develop or re-establish a meditation practice

  • Work skillfully with anxiety, addiction, depression, or nervous system stress

  • Navigate major life transitions

  • Integrate mindfulness into daily life, not just in sessions

  • Build a healthier relationship to your emotional world

This container is designed to help you:

What this is:

  • A structured container for building real practice

  • Trauma-aware and nervous system informed

  • Rooted in contemplative tradition without religious pressure

  • Relational, steady, and grounded

What this is not:

  • Therapy or psychiatric treatment

  • Crisis support

  • A quick fix

  • A rigid belief system

  • Guru-based or hierarchical

This is mindfulness-based coaching. It can complement therapy or recovery work, but it does not replace medical or mental health care.

“I found his comedic somewhat dark explanations of the meditation experience to be refreshing and authentic and honestly just fun. He brings a well informed improvisational energy that is uniquely him. There’s an ease with Joe that’s hard to manufacture, a genuine go-with-the-flow quality that makes you feel held even when you’re sitting with uncomfortable things.”

How is this sounding to you?

Why choose 1:1 coaching?

Mindfulness is brave work.

The truth is that mindfulness doesn't fix our problems and it won't make our challenges go away.

What it will do is help provide a clearer view of the underlying stories, feelings, and circumstances that are creating distress, addictive behaviors, and so on.

It can take courage to go there, but this clarity creates space for real and lasting change.

Resistance is a thing.

Sitting with yourself - the real you, in your real life - can feel incredibly challenging. Your body, your emotions, your life as it is right now.

Most folks have a difficult relationship with the body itself, so to slow down and be with sensations can be confusing or uncomfortable, and it's natural and normal for resistance to arise at times.

Consistency can be hard.

I said this before - it bears repeating, and it’s why, initially, I work with people over three months rather than a few sessions.

Twelve weeks won't make you a lifelong meditator, but it’s enough time to begin to build a foundation.

Showing up weekly starts to form a rhythm, and gradually your practice stops feeling like something you have to remember to do.

After our initial three months are complete, you're welcome to come back for another three months, or bi-weekly or monthly or one-off sessions as you need, to continue to support your practice.

3 months (12 weeks) of supported practice.

$1500 (payment plans available - three monthly payments of $500).

This is $300 less than the cost of booking individual sessions.

“I just wanted to take a minute to thank you. For so many reasons. I sat in your mindfulness meditations often. Your mindfulness meditations helped me more than you know, even when I didn’t share my internal thoughts and struggles with the group.”

What happens after three months?

At the end of three months, we reassess together. Some clients continue into another focused container. Others transition into occasional sessions as needed. There are lots of pathways you might take, and we can explore which might feel most supportive for you.

Hi, I’m Joe.

I come to this work honestly.

My early years were spent chasing dreams and chaos as a touring musician in the 1990s punk scene. Along the way, I found meditation, and, eventually, myself. After navigating the ups and downs of addiction, relapse, and recovery, mindfulness became not just a practice but a life raft.

Over the past 15 years, I've dedicated myself to making mindfulness approachable for real people with real lives, especially those who don't see themselves reflected in traditional wellness spaces.

I teach in group settings, recovery environments, workplaces, and 1:1, offering support to people who want someone in their corner as they do the sometimes challenging work of meeting their own present moment experience with curiosity and steadiness.

I integrate trauma-informed mindfulness, harm reduction principles, relapse resiliency, and emotional intelligence tools into everything I teach. I have seen (in myself and in my clients) how  presence, emotional awareness, and compassionate action can radically change how we move through the world. I believe in sobriety and self-discovery, but more importantly, I believe in learning to trust our own innate wisdom.

Mindfulness makes space for us to hear that wisdom, and builds the self-trust needed to follow it.
